Uh oh... The east coast in me is about to come out. I like NY style, thin crust pizza that you can fold up and eat. But since I now live in the Midwest, I must have Chicago style pizza. This restaurant was way too cold, which always ruins my appetite. They also give nothing to wait, like bread. We ordered a salad to share which has delicious lemon vinaigrette dressing. We waited 45 minutes for a deep dish pizza with mushrooms, which is typical. Our waitress ignored us a lot, and failed to fill up my coke or water. The pizza itself was delicious! I could only eat one piece though, since they're so giant! Bottom line is that I like the pizza, but the dining experience was stupid. I watched several waiters just stand around and talk in the corner while ignoring tables. I'll eat the pizza but I'll stick with takeout.

I love Giordano's when it comes to Chicago Style pizza. Yesterday we made a visit to this one and called them an hour earlier, as it takes 40-45 min for the pizza. As we reached pizza (cheese with chicken sausage) was ready and they took 4-5 minutes to bring it to the table. No doubt service was quick and ambiance is nice, but we got the pizza which was not hot and the specialty of pizza the melted cheese was hard. We had garlic bread as well which was hot and really good to have, but didn't really liked the not so hot pizza with hard cheese.

I got the beef sandwich with sweet peppers...very good. French fries were ok but generic... Waitress was very good and professional so that was a plus. Pizzas take 45 minutes which surely cuts sales down as that is far too long to wait.

I can only manage two slices, but was pleasantly surprised at the little amount of sauce which made my belly happy. It was also good to see that my daughter could get a personal deep dish in just cheese. Needed some salt, but otherwise amazing!

I like this location in law and the way it's designed. I think they bought out an old fire station and turned it into a pizza house. Other than The great square footage holds it has amazing pizza. Every Giordanos that we go to has amazing pizza every time. But this place also has amazing customer service. I highly recommend this location just because the way they served us and treated us. But your dinos is my favorite pizza in Chicago so I have to give them a five star

Contrary to popular belief, the majority of Chicago area folks do not eat a ton of deep dish or stuffed pizza. (Please note that these are different beasts, as well.) It's more of a once-in-awhile treat, because yes, we know that this is basically a pizza casserole. Also, Giordano's has solid thin crust as well as sandwiches and Italian dishes. But we did come here for a stuffed pizza after a particularly rough week -- where better to eat your feelings? This location is near a lot of hotels and just down the street from Oakbrook Center, so it seems to cater pretty heavily to tourists. Not that there's anything wrong with that. We were seated promptly and service was overall solid. If you are getting a stuffed pizza I recommend ordering quickly because it does take 40-45 minutes. We went for a medium cheese and an order of mozzarella wedges, because, hey, more cheese. When I was a teenager in Indiana we would drive to Chicago and visit a museum and then usually hit a pizza place for dinner. Giordano's was my favorite back then, and I think it was because of all the cheese -- tons of ooey gooey melty mozzarella. Chew well. These days I'm more of a Lou's girl, but yes, if you like a little sauce with your cheese and crust, it's hard to go wrong with Giordano's.

Not a big pizza fan but appreciate the experience of biting into a Chicago pie. Cheese, sauce, dough and meat were one of a kind. Sauce was okay a little to sweet for me but enjoyable. Service was okay. Server had flat personality and appeared ready to go home in her attempts to take an order. All in all a great choice. I would go back.

My co workers and I came here for lunch. We called ahead to order a deep dish since it took awhile. It was the 4 of us and were easily seated when we got there. Weren't too many customers either and it was a before 1pm on a Monday afternoon. Our waitress was nice and friendly. The four of us started with a starter salad. I had the house salad, two co workers had the harvest salad, and my boss had the cobb salad. I thought the house salad was just okay, too bland for my liking. My boss was indifferent with her cobb salad, but the two other co workers enjoyed their harvest salad. For the deep dish pizza we got, it was a special. It had sausage, peppers, and onions. I t hought it was fairly good but very heavy. Two of my co workers didn't think it was that great. They're from MN and wanted to try Chicago style pizza and that was why we came here. One of them said he had better pizza before. Overall it was an average lunch.

Recently renovated!!! As a local in the area I think this location cooks the deep dish crust to perfection. Restaurant is very clean and the wait staff is both helpful and concise. Try the deep dish spinach and jalapeno... my personal favorite. I have been to many giordanos in the chicago land area and always revert back to the oakbrook location ad my personal favorite!

Usually I eat at one of the Giordano's downtown, but my family and I stayed out here in Lombard. The location is right between Oakbrook Terrace and Lombard. The Yelp map for this Giordano's shows that this place is located by Salt Creek, this is incorrect, so if you visit here you will not be able to check-in unless you drive up the block about 2 miles. We stopped here this past Friday night and it was very crowded, so there was no place to park, luckily it was after business hours, so we parked behind in the business complex without any issues. This location offers free Valet parking. Anybody who has ever eaten at a Giordano's knows that it takes at least 1 hour to bake a deep dish, so I always preorder ahead of time. Our server was Melissa; she was sarcastic, very attentive and totally rocked. Even though we ordered ahead, it still took about 25 minutes for our food, so our spinach and cheese pie must have been made late. Nevertheless, once we got it was delicious and like I said, Melissa took good care of us. This is a beautiful location; they have a really nice upstairs section as well and outside a patio section. I recommend this place. I recommend this location; just make sure to order ahead of time. The reason why I took off one star is because our pizza was ordered ahead of time as I previous mentioned, after arriving an hour after placing our order, the pie should have been ready. Loved that they delivered to my hotel! Deep dish pizza is one of my favorite meals, and Giordano's did not disappoint. Super friendly young lady took my phone order, which arrived a few minutes earlier than expected(!) I made the mistake of ordering a medium for just me. Actually, that wasn't the mistake- the mistake was considering it a challenge to eat it. I ate half like a good little piggy and was so full I nearly had to push my bulging belly down to watch the football game on TV. The pizza was perfect- crunchy crust outside, chewy crust inside; the thick layer of flavorful cheese and sausage and a perfect chunky sauce on top. I loved this pizza and hope you do too!

I'm pretty impressed with this place. Disclaimer, this is my first Chicago pizza of any kind and as this is a chain it might not be what a local would consider authentic but the fact that I'm in town and don't feel like driving around trying to find something amazing and they deliver was awesome. I got a small tropic delight stuffed crust. Great decision. Crust was awesome, cheese was thick and gooey, sauce tasted great and the ham/pineapple tasted fresh. It was delivered just shy of an hour (was quoted an hour) and it was hot when it arrived. And holy shit, it was heavy. I've never been able to NOT finish a small pizza. Until this defeated me. In a good way. When I'm back in town for more than two nights I will try to find something more authentic but if not, I will be ordering again from here!

Have to try the deep dish pizza when you visit Chicago, right? Well, that's exactly what I did with a group of peeps visiting the windy city. I was in Oak Brook for a leadership training for a few days. On the last day of the training, a Chicago local in our group kindly offered to take the 4 of us out-of-towners to dinner. Where to go? The decision wasn't too hard to make as none of us had the deep dish pizza before. The local person quickly suggested Giordano's b/c it apparently is a popular local pizza place in the burbs? We came on the Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived. I heard you have to have a reservation of a party of 8 or you wouldn't be able to get a table, seriously? Anyways, the 5 of us managed to get a table b/c we made reservation early. Our Chicago local guide warned us about the wait to get food which is about 45 minutes. The restaurant listed the wait time on their menu also b/c that's how long for them to make these deep dish pizzas. The Chicago local also warned us about the size of these pizzas. They are super thick and heavy fully loaded with cheese and tons of other ingredients! We settled on two medium pizzas of the Chicago classic and tropic delight. After getting our drinks and an appetizer to share, we chatted away while waiting for our food. Exactly 45 minutes later, there was still no food. I started to get hungry and impatient so I asked our server when the pizzas would be ready. Another 20 minutes later, we finally got our deep dish pizzas! The Chicago classic came with pepperoni, mushroom, green peppers and onions. The tropic delight came with pineapple and Canadian bacon. Boy they weren't lying about the pizzas being thick and chunky! I've never seen pizzas like that in the past, only thick and chunky peeps. The pizzas probably weigh more than me. The crust is about 3-4 inches and they were stuffed with tons and tons cheese and tomato sauce inside. I felt I was eating a cake not a pizza. I was able to eat 2 and a half slices then I became super full. I have to say these deep dish pizzas were pretty delicious. I liked both the Chicago classic and the tropic delight. Great flavor! The cheese was a bit much though b/c there were chunks and chunks of cheese inside the pizza. When I was in NYC, I could eat one medium NY style pizza by myself b/c it is so thin. But for the deep dish, the 5 of us shared 2 medium ones and we still had plenty leftovers! Now I've had both Chicago style and NY style pizza, I can finally compare the two and pick a winner. **Clear throat** Final verdict: Sorry Chicago peeps, your pizza is great and all but my favorite pizza is still NY style!! Please don't throw your pizzas at me, too much cheese! ***Update: Ok fine, there is a difference between deep dish and stuffed. But I'd argue stuffed is a subset of deep dish as a new form. It is even deeper! Regardless though that's not gonna change anything, Chicago peeps! My favorite pizza is forever NY style!!!

We'll make this short & sweet: House salad was fresh & delicious w/ingredients not found on a typical "house" salad (ex: yellow tomatoes, arugula, fresh shaved Parmesan & fennel). Order it if iceberg is not your thing! Stuffed pizza is always delish and worth the 40 min wait. Staff were phenomenally friendly and accommodating to this breast feeding momma & my hubby & baby at 9 PM! It was near the end of everyone's shift but you'd never have known it. If you're taking leftovers & staying in a local hotel let them know and they'll stock you up w/ plastic utensils & plates!

I placed a to-go order over the phone. A woman named Brionna answered. I told her what I wanted but she did not respond at all so I couldn't tell if she was listening. I repeated my order to avoid any confusion. She told me the order would take 45 minutes. One hour later I got to the restaurant but they told me I had to wait longer. Soon as I complained they brought my order from the back. I checked and they forgot one item. All this with terrible attitude. I won't bother to come back here.

This past Sunday I needed a nice restaurant last minute for my sons trunk party and this outstanding restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate me and my family for the event. I'm not sure what I was expecting from my first official deep dish experience, but it wasn't as life-changing as I'd hoped. We ordered the stuffed pie with spinach and sausage. As promised, the crust was buttery and rich, the cheese was gooey, and the ingredients tasted good (especially enjoyed the sausage). My husband actually said he prefers the deep dish at Pizzeria Uno. We ordered a pepperoni thin crust pizza, and I suppose the crust is thin compared to the deep dish, but I was definitely hoping for a thinner crust for contrast to the heavy deep dish crust. The Giordano's House Salad was refreshing and delicious, though.

The after-party for my the christening of a family member was held here last weekend. I was in a very unusual set of circumstances, in the middle of an extremely stringent 28-day diet. As such, a pizza joint would not have been my first choice for eating out, but I was there to hang with my family. So I crossed my fingers, read the menu in advance and hoped that the wait staff would work with me. The staff was amazing! When I got there, holding my presents, the hostess asked if she should bring a table into the party room to put them on. It was there and set up in minutes. The christening ran very late, so most of our party arrived an hour later than the time they had booked the room for. The staff totally took it in stride and bumped back the serving time with no worries. When it came time to eat, I explained to the waitress that I couldn't eat the pizza, and asked for some grilled chicken. She was extremely helpful and promptly brought me exactly what I asked for,even fetching some salad to put it on . The chicken and salad were excellent.. The only reason my rating isn't higher is that I didn't get to try the pizza, so I don't feel like I can give an accurate rating on it. (The pizza smelled really awesome, though!) Just be aware, the parking lot is very small. I suspect that at prime meal times, parking is very challenging.

The ONLY reason why I am giving Giordano's 3 stars is because my husband would like to include his input. He claims that I am being way too harsh but I am just "keepin it real!" If left up to me, I would give this restaurant 2 stars. My experience was eh...anti-climatic! The deep dish pizza is nothing to write home about. The ingredients didn't taste fresh at all. I wonder if I went into the kitchen would I find canned tomato sauce, off brand mozarella cheese, and other packaged foods full of preservatives. The crust was dry and disgusting and on the inside of the end piece, it was wet and doughy. The other times I visited Chicago, we ate a Gino's East and their pizza is WAY better. I also hear Lou Malnati's is good as well. When I return, I will not bother with this huge chain. Instead I will seek truly authentic deep dish pizza that is more satisfying to my taste buds.

Stuffed pizza!! I just can't find pizza like this anywhere in California. My only minor issue was that the pizzas we got weren't hot all the way through -- they were cooked/warmed through, but the middle could've been more melty. This may have been partially our fault, though, because we had a flight to catch and had told the server we were in a rush. The pizzas usually take ~45 minutes and ours came out a bit quicker. I tried the special (no mushrooms) and the broccoli & toasted garlic, and both were excellent. The bruschetta and calamari appetizers were also pretty good.

This is one of the best traditional Chicago pizza places you'll find. Both their thin crust and deep dish pizzas are good. Check online for their current menu but they have a full bar, many appetizers to chose from, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes, etc. There are many locations throughout Chicago. This particular location in Oakbrook Terrace is clean and inviting. Service is always good.

Best pizza in Chicago? I hope not. Was not bad pizza, per se, but don't advertise the "Best" and then give me that. I'll finish with the following provisos: I had thin crust (not a Chicago style fan... Too much), first time in Chicago area to eat pizza, and it was a Tuesday. Service: OK. Not what I would call attentive. Honestly maybe if my expectations were lower I could rate higher, but Giordano's shoots their own foot in this case.

The pizza was OK albeit RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED, but the real killer is the INCREDIBLY HORRIBLE SERVICE. Our server was sweet but totally and I do mean TOTALLY incompetent. I have never had such bad service in my entire life from a restaurant that is trying so hard to be upscale and MISSED SO BADLY. The food was OK although for the price it should have been fantastic, but the incredibly poor service set the tone for a really poor dining experience. I don't know how they managed to grow to a corporate giant with all these stores unless they have totally forgotten that without customer service, they are just another mediocre-to-fair pizza joint. I wouldn't eat at another store in the chain, it's WAYYY not worth the money for the food and the terrible service makes it a poor and way overpriced pizza place. Go somewhere else, it's not worth the money or your time. Costco across the street has pizza that is just as good for a LOT LESS money--but the service at Costco is MUCH better--and at least they actually KNOW how to do their jobs. Total disappointment--and an expensive one.

Very good deep dish and thin crust pizza. The ingredients taste fresh and the size of the pizzas is pretty generous. The staff is very friendly and attentive. On the downside, the chicken parmesan sandwich is total crap. The chicken was tougher than shoe leather. I don't know how you can screw up chicken this badly but Mission Accomplished.

So if you are a party of 8 it seems to be acceptable, by even the managers, that your party will be place at a table where 1/4 of it is in the walk way and crammed next to another table of 14. The waitress try her best,but we spent the majority of the night passing food, drinks & plate clean or used. We really did not plan to go out for dinner to spend the night serving the table. When asked how we could get reseated we were offered seating outside where it was too cold as the night was coming and I really do not think a patio where you literally are in the parking lot is a viable option. I realize that this is a casual restaurant, however that should not allow for far less than accommodating service and poor management skills. They were great at coming over to tell us they could not help and then linger far beyond a level needed. I hope their corporate leader keep tabs on posts like this.

Went here for a Hot Wheels chat room lunch. We took over the top stairs section. The pizza was very good and cheese as every. What was even better was hanging out with the people I miss the most and who I will always cherish as my friends! I am very hopeful we can all do it again. The pizza is awesome. Spinach and sausage and bacon & cheese for the other. I'm pretty sure the crust is the best part. It almost tastes like a pastry. Like a pastry pizza. So crispy and light and delicious. Service..not so awesome. We had a large group, but they seated us at a table of 6 squeezed among tables (for 8 people and a baby). So, we asked to be moved and the waitress seemed pissed off that we had asked in the first place. She originally took 2 of our drink orders, then not anyone else. Once we were moved, then we luckily got a new waiter and things definitely improved from there. The times when he stopped by, he was really nice and accommodating. Of course, our drinks were not filled so once my drink was one, I received no refills. I ended up refilling my drink with water. Also, parking is difficult. There's barely any parking available and the parking lot is a mess with only one way in and out. I probably wouldn't return to this location, since there's a better one in Downers Grove.

I decided to give this location another try. Since I had terrible delivery service experience I decided to dine in. Me, attempting to be 2 steps ahead, ordered at 11:06 and told them I would be there at 12:15. Once I got there I was super excited, I just love the pizza. We were seated and given menus. I informed out server that we had placed an order and that we didn't need menus. We placed a drink order and she walked off. After waiting for a few minutes I asked our server were was our pizza. She said it would b 5 more minutes. At 12:44 I go to the front and inquire. The guy says I'm sorry I don't know what happened I'll bring your pizzas right to you. He apologized and compted our meal.

I so wanted to love this restaurant. We have eaten at other Giordano's but this one wasn't good. We went in, not busy at all but had to wait 5 minutes to clean tables... Ordered deep dish pizza, came out overcooked. Asked the waitress about it and she said that was the way it is, but then said, yeah it may be overcooked. Then... why serve it? Such a shame.

I made this account to do this review. We go in on a Sunday at about 2pm. Not busy. Order a entree caesar salad, italian beef and a large thin crust with half pineapple and ham and half spinach. Italian comes out, and waitress walks away. The whole time nowhere to be seen. 30 minutes later Lolita brings out our pizza. I asked about the caesar salad, she said she forgot to put it in and that she'll take it off our bill. Okay whatever. So then we start eating the pizza. Half spinach half pineapple. I ask about the ham and she said I only said pineapple not ham and walks away. Once she brings our bill, she corrects me and says " we do not serve ham on pizza, it would be canadian bacon" you did not tell me that when I ordered. So we paid because we had to go and I went up to manager but he was busy with someone else. I will not be returning here.

Me and my boyfriend went to eat here and I ordered a Greek salad to start. I really hate when places add/subtract from salads when they have the Ingredients listed on the menu. I really like Kalamata olives so my salad came out without any and I also had red and green peppers (not originally on the salad). So waiter came over and I asked him where were my olives and why are there red and green peppers on my salad. He tried to convince me that the peppers were cherry peppers and they come in red and green and I'm looking at him like do you think I was born yesterday? So he went and came back with a cup full of black olives and says to me "the reason you don't have Kalamata olives on your salad is because we are out so I brought you these. These taste just like them except they are sliced up." Again....this guy must think I have absolutely zero knowledge about food or something. Btw....I don't like regular ripe black olives. I told him that I don't like those and to just bring me green ones instead. So...I don't like the fact that the waiter really tried my food intelligence...either that or he doesn't know much about food and needs to learn more. But..min spite of that I found the salad to be pretty good and I liked the dressing on it. It was pretty small though. So...secondly...my bf ordered hot wings. They were super soft. Idk how they cook those things but the texture did not really cut it for us. Third...the pizza was cool. We had the stuffed pizza with sausage, pepperoni, onions...peppers and mushrooms. It didn't seem like it was super hot when it came out but it was good. It tasted better the next day actually lol but anyways...long story short, the waiter dropped off our pizza and we didn't see him for the rest of the time we were there. I actually had to go and find him to get our check. It wasn't even super busy but I will not come back here. I'm sure there are places with better pizza and better service in chicago lol

I was very excited to eat the famed Giordano's Pizza, which is considered one of the best deep dish pizza eateries in Chicago. The restaurant designed to look like a decked out auto garage, with large, iconic signs like, "And on the Seventh Day He Ordered Pizza," hanging from the ceilings. Being from Houston, I've never eaten a deep dish pizza-I should be ashamed of myself, I know. We started with the garlic parmesan fries. They arrived piping hot & tasted delish. I stepped it up to gourmet status by squeezing lemon all over (sounds weird, but just do it. You can buy me dinner later!). After hearing that the famous deep dish was a 45 min. wait, we snagged the bruchetta as well. I thought the tomatoes made the garlic bread soggy & it was a little light on salt. The pizza arrived and was steaming with ooey gooey goodness! I had pineapple & mushroom. I was craving from scratch tomato sauce and fresh basil, oregano, and maybe thyme. I just didn't get that. The deep dish crust was AMAZING. Flaky, crunchy in all the right places, and authentic. Overall, great chicago experience, but I probably wouldn't call it my #1.

I don't know how this place doesn't have at least 4 stars. If you're not from the area, all of the chains like Lou Malnati (sp?), Gino's East, and Giordano's are all great. They're just different. I love the thick, chewy cheese that they use. It has some substance when you bite it. Since it takes about 40-45 minutes to bake a stuffed pizza, allow for some extra time. They are all good. I like the thin crust too. It's not as thin as some New York pizza, but it's still crisp. Pizza Hut thin crust is a joke compared to Giordano's. I moved from Chicago 14 years ago, but Giordano's is still as good as I remember. I drove 7 hours to visit Chicago, and Giordano's was the first meal I ate here. They don't have a successful mail order pizza for no reason!

The hubby and I always get the same thing at Giordano's a salad and their super veggie stuffed pizza. We went with an entree sized chopped salad to split. The chopped salad is nice because everything is literally chopped nice an small so you don't need a knife to eat your salad. Lots of tomatoes, onions, mozzarella cheese, black olives and blue cheese with an olive oil & vinaigrette dressing. The entree size it plenty large to share with almost 4 adults. Their supper veggie stuffed pizza is fully loaded; mushrooms, green peppers, onions, black olives, even broccoli, artichokes & spinach! The crust is good. It also holds up well to re-baking at home so leftovers taste great and never last long.

The kids ordered milk with dinner. Some moron decided to reuse the kid cups. Problem was, the happy diners before us had Oreo shakes. Since they didn't wash the cups, my kids got Oreo flavored milk. If this place can't wash kids' cups, I'd hate to see what they do with everything else back in the kitchen. Pass. There are plenty of pizza places in Chicago that wash their dishes.

I had wished for decades to try REAL Chicago stuffed pizza. It was just as amazing as I had dreamed it would be, and absolutely exceeded my expectations. Being born and raised in the L.A. area of CA, and living here for all of my life, it has been difficult to find "Chicago-style" pizza here. I've had a few store-bought ones from the frozen section of my local supermarket throughout the years (Chicago Bros & Uno). I've also tried a few from restaurants in CA that offer deep dish pizza and claimed to be "Chicago-style", but I knew it wasn't the real deal. I've recently discovered two places in the L.A. area via Yelp which supposedly offer true Chicago-style pizza, and I look forward to trying for myself one day to compare! I'm sure it will be difficult to top the quality I experienced from Giordano's! Another thing I had to comment on is the excellent, friendly service I received from the bartenders and bar back at this location while I chose to wait at the bar for my pizza to be ready. It was cool to talk about beer and Chicago with them and learn a bit more about the city (since it was my first visit there), and also try some great Chicago-brewed beer including Goose Island's Green Line. Wish I could've taken a 6-pk back home on the plane with me! Will definitely be placing an order online one day to ship one of these pizzas to CA!

I'm only giving a 3 star because of wait time and price. The deep dish was great however, it was my first deep dish so I don't have a comparison. Ingredients were fresh and flavor was great! The deep dish takes a while to cook so be prepared. For just pizza, the place is kind of pricey and combined that with waiting that long = 3 stars.

Delicious and fresh! I could eat more for breakfast!! We visited the Chicago area from Michigan and wanted to try some Chicago style pizza. I Yelped' local pizza places near the area we were staying for the night and came across this restaurant. Not only was the pizza good but our waiter was hilarious! We had a great time and we had great food! Bravo!

Typical Giordano's. We picked one up on the way home and drove it 2 hours to the house. We popped it in the oven for 20 minutes on 350 and it tasted like we didn't even leave the restaurant. Giordano's is a must for the family when we're around it. Good price too. We like the deep dish meat and more meat.

I now know why they filed for chapter 11. This was the worst pizza I have ever had. When I opened the box the pizza wasn't even holding it self together. The cheese was very dry. It looked as though some took some slices out of the box. I ordered it for company lunch. What a big mistake. They are obviously riding on the name recognition by now and not the quality of the food. I will never order from here again. Extremely disappointing. It's very obvious this location will be out of business very soon.

We get Giordano's delivered all the time to our office. I've never had their deep dish pizza, but their thinner crust pizza is pretty tasty! I'm not going to say it's the best, but it's definitely good, and I enjoy eating it. It's funny how their "thin" crust is regular crust at any normal pizza place, but since it's Chicago that's a Chicago style joint that's just how it is!

I always love this place, my hometown Chicago Pizza. You can never go wrong here, they serve think, thick, deep dish and load of pastas. So you have options, many of them! If you haven't tried this place yet, your insane! what are you waiting for?! go go go! like now or tomorrow. At least try it out and see what you've been missing on!

Went in on a Friday at 12pm and there were only 3-4 tables occupied. This place is dead and now I know why. The bartender was also our waitress and bus girl. This place is severely understaffed. There were 6 or us for lunch initially and we received our drinks right away. But it took the 7th person 30 mins to get a diet coke. It took over an hour to get our food and only then did the waitress bring us water after 2 requests. The pizza was mediocre and tasted frozen. The garlic fries were so salty that I left them and the booze was overpriced. We waited 25 minutes for the check to arrive, went it did our waitress never bothered to come back. One of us had to get up and hunt her down. Don't know what she was doing because by this time there was only one other table in the whole place. Two beauty queens acting as the hostesses just stood there absorbed in their own conversation. I guess they're just not interested. Guess what? Neither am I. Blow this place off-it's a loser! Going home and firing up a frozen grocery store pizza for 1/3 the price!

While I was in Chicago for four glorious days...I ate at Giordano's twice. One time at the one downtown, and once at this location. The pizza was pretty much the same from both spots, but downtown was absolutely more hassle and had a much longer wait. If you're able to, I would avoid the downtown location. The pizza is pretty good as far as stuffed pizza goes! I really like the spinach, meatball combo. The cheese is great quality and the crust is good too! and I'm not even a crust fan. A small is enough for 3 people, or you can get a small for two and have a little left over. We also tried the garlic Parmesan fries. They were good at one point, but by the time we got them they were room temperature, which is never a good french fry quality. We picked up our order. If you're getting fries, I wouldn't order them until you get there, or else they will end up being like ours- done and bagged up about 15 minutes early with no room to vent. Ask for ranch! It's free and yummy!

I'd order delivery again just for their good customer service. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but still good. Ordered delivery during a weekend stay in Oakbrook Terrace. Asked the hotel desk clerk for a recommendation. He handed me Giordano's carry-out and delivery menu and promised I'd be full after my second slice. I wasn't on hold very long, and I was greeted with a friendly voice. Delivery took about an hour-fifteen...but thankfully I'd read a Yelp! review explaining that cooking the stuffed pizza takes about 40 minutes...so I wasn't worried. The delivery guy was friendly and smiled, so he got a friendly tip. Just as the hotel desk clerk promised, I was full after my second slice. Crust, cheese, more crust, more cheese, sauce, then toppings. You can't go wrong with pepperoni, and it was nice to enjoy a different style of pizza. Giordano's even provided disposable plates, salt-n-pepper, Parmesan cheese, napkins and plastic utensils. Giordano's gets 3 stars for good pizza and a 4th star for good customer service...only because I reserve 5 stars for "Ermahgerd!!! Pertzer!!!"

placed a take out order at 10pm for a pick up at 11pm. some rude inexperienced call service lady placed the order for 11 the next day. showed up with hungry tourists in the car only to find out there was nothing ready to pick up. the manager was even more rude and unapologetic. man up and admit your mistake. worst pizza joint in town. save your $$ and enjoy some peace and satisfaction elsewhere.

Pros: - Nice decor - Large menu of things to choose from - Average pizza (Got the Chicago stuffed) Cons: - SLOW SLOW SLOW service. Like just bring me water already kthanks. - Overpriced, much more expensive than Lou Malnati's - Average pizza (I prefer Lou's to be honest) Overall, this place isn't bad, but it isn't like incredible either. There just wasn't a Lou's in the area. The waitress could have made our experience better too by being more attentive and proactive during our visit, especially considering there was virtually no crowd present.

Giordano's is easily my second favorite Chicago-style pizzeria behind Lou Malnotti's. Giordano's is famous for loading up on cheese and a frequent complaint is that the pizza is light on sauce. This doesn't bother me, but you should be warned. This particular location is huge, so it should not be too difficult to find seating. One last thing... It takes at least 40 minutes to cook a pizza, so order before you are seated to minimize your wait. Enjoy!

First time I've been to this location but I've had Giordano's before at their Orlando Fl location and it was delicious. The food at this location was good as well. The only issue I had was that I ordered pizza (deep dished) and wasn't told that it would be almost 50 mins wait. I must say that the manager on duty was kind enough to discount my bill after I let him know of the wait. I'll definitely try them again but only when I have time to wait on my order.

Literally we were the only table in the restaurant. THE ONLY ONE. Yet the server still managed to mess up the order. We waited 40 mins on my lunch break for the incorrect pizza which contained ingredients we did not order and could not eat. Needless to say I left hungry because I had to return to work. How do you ruin the only one table in the entire establishment. Never will I return.

I was in the Chicago area for business and decided to check this place out. I was born and raised outside of NYC in New Jersey, so my idea of pizza is very different from the stuffed pizza I bought here. I ordered a small Special pizza - sausage, onions, green peppers and mushrooms. The sausage tasted funny.....there was a spice in it that I didn't like at all. The other veggies were OK. The pizza must have had 4 pounds of cheese in it, which sat in stomach like a weight. The quality of the pizza was good....my 2 star rating comes from the fact that the sausage tasted funny, overall the flavor of the pizza wasn't that great and the cheese sat in my gut like a kettle bell. I have heard that the pizza you like the best is the pizza that you ate when you were growing up. For me that is classic NYC pizza. If I were to go back to Chicagoland again, I might try the thin crust to see how it stacks up.

A group of 8 for dinner. The food is generally great here. The last carry out was a disaster.. this is why we stick to the stuffed crust pizza from here.. Its what they are famous for right? The pizza we got was not the pizza ordered, but the manager was very polite, and took care of it very quickly.. even though the attitude on the waitress could have used adjusting.. Never talk back to the customer and say "Well... I repeated the order back to you!" Anyway, once we got passed that, we had a pleasant evening. I would still take out a stuffed crust and eat at home where the service is always great!

Giordano's just doesn't cut it for me. I've been to this location twice - once in 2009 and once a few weeks ago in 2012. The first time I went was pretty good, but I was majorly disappointed this last time. First off, their parking lot is tiny, so a lot of people have to park next door at the hotel/find somewhere else to park. Super long wait (for table and pizza), waiting area was way too small for the amount of people and there were barely any seats. Standing in the cold hallway with a super huge winter draft and having to move every 2 minutes because someone is trying to make their way to the front is not fun. I would definitely recommend ordering pizza while you wait because it takes about 40-60 minutes to cook. The interior is decorated nicely, but it's still very crowded. Wait staff was also slow, and the deep dish pizza was a let down. It wasn't nearly as hot as fresh pizza should be, and although we got multiple ingredients, it wasn't very flavorful & there wasn't enough sauce. I was expecting more for the money, and more due to their reputation. Oh well...

With the current construction in the area, it's quite difficult to get in and out of their parking lot. Inside, there is a small bar area but the seating is pretty plentiful since a lot of people do carryout. The pizzas are pretty standard as it is the same at all of their locations. Thick doughy crust, plenty of cheese, topping inside, and sauce on top. Service is pretty standard. I recently did a carryout order for a frozen half-baked and they didn't mess up the order. They do take your credit card information when you order a few days early and give it to you to sign when you come pick it up. I personally am not a fan of their pizza due to their crust, but I understand their appeal to others. For this area, there is no reason to come here other than their pizza as there are plenty of other Italian restaurants nearby.

I had this for my brother's rehearsal dinner and we rented out the whole top floor and it was buffet service style. When we first got there drinks were already lined up and ready to go, but they were holding off on the pizza until there was plenty of people so it wouldn't get cold. There was a decent amount of draught beers and I had the Goose Island Green Line and Summertime ale but they quickly ran out of the Summertime. As more people filed in the pizzas started to come out, five pizzas at a time. They had cheese, pepperoni, sausage, and special (supreme). I started off with special and it was delicious and still mouth-burning hot. The mozzarella was a little much and overbearing (especially on the plain cheese). It seemed like there was pounds of it per slice. The crust was the worst part. It was plain jane, and tasteless. It was crumbly and would fall apart. If you're going to go with Giordano's get some toppings in your pizza. Otherwise, as I verbally pointed out, it's like eating a giant warm string cheese. The parking was enough even with so many people and there are plenty of TVs if you're interested in watching the game. There was private bathrooms upstairs which was nice not having to go all the way downstairs to use the bathroom.

Plus the pick up area takes so long to pick up pizza but, they are fast to get your credit card or cash not the food. Plus rude service girls especially the 2 blonde haired ones working there.

Their Food is always exceptional. As a home-grown Chicagoan, Giordano's is absolutely positively #1 in my book. Better than Malnati's, Rosati's, Ginos East and the-like. Everything there is sure to please the tastebuds! Its a great restaurant, thus it MAY be busy during dinner and weekend hours. Its not a magical restaurant that can make an open table "appear" for people that may be waiting for one. So, call ahead or visit on off-peak hours if you dont want to wait a few minutes (if you may have to--just commenting in some prior posts complaining about waiting--WHAT DID YOU EXPECT??). This is THE PLACE for fabulous pizza. It is always at the top of my list of pizza joints!!

Meh. That is the word that best sums this place up. We went there because it was on the way to the hotel after church and had good reviews. The service was "lacking." I couldn't talk the hubs into a deep dish, so we had the 14 inch Chicago Style. It was average at best, and $22... For a medium pizza. Also, we all drank water, as drinks were $3/each. Our poor little Nebraska hearts jut couldn't take it! Glad it is the first day of vacation so I don't leave on a bad note!!

I like Giordano's, but their prices have seriously gotten insanely out of control. My mom and I ate here today for lunch and it was pretty good. We ordered two appetizers (we knew we'd have a lot to take home) and an small size stuffed pizza. We had the trio appetizer which includes mozzarella sticks, breaded zucchini and breaded mushrooms. Mmmmmm. That was worth the $10.95 because it was insanely huge. We must have only eaten like 1/4 of the actual food on the plate. We also tried the spinach artichoke dip and it was insanely tiny and just OK. That was not worth the $8 or so that it cost. Boo. The main reason why I rate this restaurant A-OK (even though I LOVE the food) is because the small pizza that we ordered was $17.95. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! It had spinach in it. That's what made it cost so much money. The pizza was literally four tiny pieces. Almost $18 for the tinest pizza ever? Wow that is just bad. It's just dough, sauce and cheese - some places charge $10 for a huge, yummy pizza and apparently Giordano's charges upwards of $30 to feed three people. Ewwwww. I don't think I'll be able to come back just because the prices are way too high.

The best tip I have to offer is that you should definitely call ahead to order your deep dish/stuffed pizza to avoid having a very long stay at the restaurant. Be prepared to wait at least 35 minutes for your pizza. It's nice to know that your pizza is made fresh, but if you're out of time, come here another day. My family ended up waiting longer because there was a mistake with our order (they never made our pizza due to miscommunication!), but the manager was very polite about it-- he offered to pay for our entire meal. That is very generous, and I appreciated it. The pizza itself: Bear in mind that this was my first time trying Chicago style deep dish pizza.The crush was crisp and buttery... not burnt or under-done. The pizza overall was ok, but I would have preferred a lot LESS cheese and more sauce. I liked the spices in the sausage though :)

I went to this location twice during my last visit to Chicago. I fancy myself a pizza expert. I've been to all corners of the world and have tried many different variations. Everyone has an opinion regarding pizza. My favorite are still on the east coast, but for deep dish, there's something about me and Giordano's that were just meant to be together. Don't order anything else on the menu (maybe beer - some good local brews on tap) and don't go there hungry as the pizza takes 45 minutes to cook. We had a table of 30 people...it was loud...until the pizza arrived. It was quiet for the next 15 minutes as everyone strapped on their feedbag and went to work. Many of the people I went with were there for the first time and they're definitely converted. Many had pizza shipped home (which they do). A small pizza will easily feed 2 people (maybe 3) and I can pack it in. I would have loved to give this experience 5 stars like my several past experiences would have been, but on my second trip, the service was terrible. We had a table of about 12 people. She came and took our orders, we were in a rush so she recommended the personal pies that could be made in 15 minutes instead of the usual 45. 20 minutes later, she comes out of the kitchen and tells us that they don't have enough of these pies available. Everyone had to order the 35 minute pies after that and stressed themselves out about potentially being late for their flight. She then disappeared for an extremely long time, so there were no refills until the pies actually came out. Too bad. I love this place, some of the downtown locations were better - definitely go there if you haven't tried it.

I went to this one weekend after checking in next store to Holiday Inn. I had a late night craving for a sausage/green pepper pizza and only had 15 minutes till they closed.I walked next store and picked this up and everyone was real friendly. I got back to the room and they put everything on a bag.The pizza was delicious and they had very good sausage.For a chain restraunt I reccomend this place for a good chicago thin crust pizza.

I'm on the hunt for good Chicago pizza. We went here because of part of the name, "famous" and because of the decent reviews. Restaurant interior looks fun and cute. Goodness ends here. First off, the service was bad. All the servers ignored us and the one who was assigned to us seemed high on something (aloof and forgot that he was our server) and was frequently seemingly wandering aimlessly around the restaurant. Forgot our drinks, including the water. We ordered iced tea and soup. After asking about our order, we were told that the house was out of iced tea. Then later, we were informed that they were out of soup. So we waited for the pizza, which eventually came after all the tables around us were served and were now awaiting their checks (they even arrived after us and one table was overtly annoyed at the wait for getting their credit card picked up they flagged down the manager instead). Then, we had to get a bus boy to bring us utensils that the server forgot to bring as well. Pizza: mediocre, standard pizza witih 2 crusts (one on top and the same on the bottom). The dough wasn't cooked through enough; only the edge was mildly crispy. Bland tomatoe sauce. Boring sausage. Mushrooms were huge chunks. Imagine a pizza hut pizza (which I already despise) with 50% less salt, 30 % less of the oil, and double the crust. Not an exciting pizza at all. However, the pizza was much better reheated in the microwave the next day with the addition of crushed red chili peppers - probably because the process cooked the dough to an extent.

Holy heavy pizza. Ok... I had to try some real deep dish while here in Chicago... I only needed one piece to convince myself that i liked it, AND also that I would be 20 lbs heavier after eating it. It truly is delicious, and SO cool how all the stuffing comes underneath the sauce.... and the crust is impeccable. HOWEVER---- i am still an NYC pizza fan. I was traveling with my family when we stopped in here. It was a Saturday night and we were expecting to wait. Thankfully, they seated us right away. The Tropical Stuffed Pizza with Canadian bacon and pineapple was good, though the wait for it, on most nights, would have driven my eight year old nuts. We had chicken wings for starters which we thought were good (ask for all three sauces if you want some variety). Prices are a little on the high side but we have never had real deep-dish pizza to compare it too. I would definitely recommend this place, however.

I picked up a pizza from here. It wasn't bad but it wasn't the greatest. I don't think it was freshly made as the green peppers and onions seemed like they were reheated. Also there wasn't enough sauce on top of the pizza. I won't be coming back to this location.

Giordano's had great pizza and definitely represents Chicago! It does take them 30-45 minutes to get the deep dish though. I had the super veggie lover minus the brocolli...and the guys had the sausage deep dish. I have always enjoyed their pizzas. This must have been the 30th time I have had their pizzas. haha Service was good. Wait time is quite long, but worth the wait, but prices are quite high. It cost me about 25 bucks for the 10 inch....that's pretty insane. I don't mind paying it, but it is a little over the top. I only ate two slices and that is the most I ever eat. Overall, I would go back. Especially when we have visitors from a different state that are in the mood for great deep dish.

I was not impressed. Service was slow even though it was 3:30 in the afternoon with 2 other tables in the the whole place and about 10 servers. My husbands iced tea tasted rotten and when he asked for a new one the server told us "that's just how it tastes, it's not good." Pizza was bland and way overpriced for the mediocre cheese and the boring sauce. The only positive was the chopped salad was great

Giordanos, thank god you exist. My fiance would go into deep depression if he didn't have you once a week. He is the King, the all mighty connoisseur, the ruler, the worshiper of pizza and Giordanos his is all time favorite. Once, while he was visiting in Idaho and had a craving for Giordanos he couldn't kick, he had a family member mail one of the frozen pizzas you can buy at the restaurant out to him. I think that is saying something! I personally cannot handle the deep dish. It looks amazing but I just cannot handle the much cheese. But the bites I can take are truly decadent and I love the crust. I also think their thin crust is good and more up my ally. When we don't have it delivered and actually eat in, I love to order salads here because they are huge. That is rare in pizza joints, so for all you health nuts or dieters out there take note. When your man drags you in for another pizza joint, Giordanos does offer some good portioned salads that will fill you up and not leave you drooling over the pizza sitting in front of you calling your name. My only complaint is that it is a little too expensive, especially for a weekly habit.

Duh on the pizza being fantastic. Service for this round of pie was actually really good. My friend and I went late afternoon on a Sunday and our server was beyond friendly, (non-annoying thou) and attentive. Location is great with lots of parking, even valet, and it's two floors!

Feeling like a gut full a deep dish pizza? Yeah, yeah, yeah? Give Giordanos a try then. The restaurant is massive,two stories of seating. I like that since that usually means no waiting and if you know me I'm not typically a waiter. I've dined here a couple times, had delivery and actually they hosted my brothers rehearsal dinner in one of the rooms. So I have a lot of experience here. The staff is terrific! Always very polite and sweet. The food delicious but heavy, Honestly I can only eat this pizza like once maybe twice a year because it makes my belly ache.But its all worth it at the time just afterwards is the problem.My family usually gets the deep dish spinach and cheese add a bit a red pep, yummmy! I've had the chooped salad minus meat and the house dressing which is very addictive with the tiny chunks of mozzarella cut up.

If you order a stuffed pizza, it will take 30 mins minimum. I ordered the personal sausage stuffed pizza for lunch. I was ready to have my first official bite of Chicago style pizza. To my disappointment, I did not enjoy it it at all. Guess it's not for me. I prefer Round Table anyday. 2 stars did not result from the style of pizza rather the service. It was late lunch and fairly empty restaurant. Our waitress took a while to come. She did not remember what we ordered. The kitchen sent out the wrong order for my friend but she wasn't able to catch it until we asked. Just poor service overall. Not sure if it can be better at peak hours of dining.

Was just at this location on 7/10 and I was absolutely appauled at the service. My boyfriend and I ordered a stuffed crust, which takes 45 minutes, as we were waiting, we NEVER received a refill on our drinks or even acknowledged for that matter. That was enough but after waiting 45 Minutes they brought us the wrong pizza!!! Apparently incompetent wait staff took our pizza to another table and so the manager came over and expected us to wait another 45 MINUTES for another pizza and charge us for it!!!! SO to say the least I let the manager know what I thought of his establishment and walked out hungry and absolutely disgusted.. Ordered carry out from the location in Downers Grove.. that place is great!.. but I WILL never go to the Oakbrook Terrace location EVER AGAIN!!!

Gosh, I can't believe I spaced and forgot to rate Giordano's! Being a Cali native, I've never had pizza as 'deep' (or as GOOD) as this. I ordered a medium for me and my wife, and we ended up with left-overs for DAYS! I know many Chicagoans back Lou Malnati's, but I have to say Giordano's is a step above Lou's, especially in the crust! If you have something to say about that, please send me a private message, I'd love to hear that there's a secret dish on the menu at Lou's I haven't tried!

This was one of my must dos while in Chicago. I went at about 8:30 after some of the crowd had cleared hoping not to have to wait to long since I was alone. The restaurant was about half full and I was seated right away. It took 10 minutes for the waitress take my drink order and another 5 minutes to get the beer. The waitress was very nice but VERY slow. I ordered the the "Special" stuffed pizza which had sausage, onion green pepper and something else??? anyway I didn't want the green peeper so I switched it for spinach (up-charge.) The menu said it would take about 35 minutes for the pizza, which it did. The pizza was good, though I am not sure its what I was expecting. I think I was thinking more deep dish not stuffed. Anyway it was good Like previous reviewers have said it isn't cheep. I had one beer and a small stuffed pizza (I could only eat half) and it was $30.00. I was by myself, $30.00 for pizza? Well at least I checked t off my list of things to do.

Great deep dish pizza here. Good sauce, about 1.5 inches thick of cheese goodness. 1 large might feed 3-4 people easily. With a that cheese, expect it to sit in your gut for a while. So far, I would say this place serves some of the better deep dish pizza in the area.

I haven't had tons of Chicago style pizza in my days on this planet,but I have had enough to know that this place was good enough to try out. Our shuttle driver said second best in Chicago, but he used to be in sales and marketing so I am not convinced just yet... I'd like to try out other places first. :o)

Good food and the deep dish pizza is very good, but has a long wait time. We sat in an area w/4 TVs overhead but you had to crane youre neck to see straight up. It's nice, not terribly expensive but we did sit around four half an hour craving our necks while waiting to be served.

Another restaurant that ranks 3.5 stars. When it comes to deep dish pizza, Giordano's ranks third on my list so I enter into this review admitting I have a bias. As expected on my last visit to Giordano's the pizza was good as expected. I was also impressed with the services. The waitress did a good job of making sure drinks were filled and we had everything we needed.

I'm sorry but the deep dish pizza wasn't all that. I ordered a small supreme which seemed skimpy on the meat but heavy on the veggies. Don't get me wrong the fresh veggies were good but i tasted more veggies than the meat!!!

Went here by recommendation from a friend for deep dish pizza, and loved it. I lived in NYC for two years, and am partial to thin crust pizza (try Pizza Box on Mercer), but I know really appreciate deep dish. It's totally different, and very good. In fact, we ended up going to Giordano's twice on a 5 day trip. One thing, it's kind of like eating a big chunk of melted cheese. So, it's not for the lactose intolerant. I basically ate a slice and a half and was stuffed. My wife got through a slice. Normally, we can eat 3-4 slices of thin crust pizza. Anyhow, we liked it so much, we are now trying to figure out how to get some Giordano's here in LA. Maybe they ship it?

Not much else can satisfy my pizza cravings quite like Giordano's. I wish I lived closer so that they could deliver, but I prefer dining in at this location rather than Glen Ellyn. I cannot begin to count how many times I've come here. It became an every Friday night think with my friends in high school, and now it's blossomed into "I'm hungry, let's go to Giordano's" type of thing. It's come to the point where if my friends and I are hungry, they will have to explicitly tell me they do not have a taste for pizza. That kind of brutality does disappoint me, but I'm glad they get it out of the way. The service is okay. I think the to-go staff is a little immature. One of the servers told us all her baby mama drama on my 18th birthday that we celebrated here. I prefer their thin crust--it has a sweet, crunchy brilliance. The cheese is delicious and plentiful. The tomatoes are perfect and sometimes I just eat them all by themselves. Also, the cheese garlic tomato bread is sometimes better than the pizza. What I don't get is that they decided to use all nouns for the name of their appetizer--cheese garlic tomato bread? It sounds like I'm chanting.

Good Lord, the pizza was fantastic. I'm a fan of Chicago Style Pizza. I was in town for business and didn't feel like driving to far so I walked around to see what was around and came across this place. I ordered the standard house pan pizza (deep dish of course) and took it back to my room at the hotel (seating at this place was a 30 min wait). OMG, I could only eat one two slices before I was stuffed. Had the rest for breakfast the next day and lunch, I'm so thankful the Marriott had a refrigerator in my room. The crust was perfect, with the cheese and tomatoes. Ever since I came back to California, I've yet to find a decent deep dish pizza.

Best place to go if you are a deep dish lover. Their famous deep dish is loaded with cheese and the crust in unbelievably flaky and crisp. The thin crust is equally as good. Good appetizers like wings and mozzarella sticks. I wouldn't suggest getting the deep dish delivered-the crust gets a little soggy...

Wow, no one has written a review about Giordano's yet? Really?? To me, this is what Chicago is all about, the pizza, especially deep dish (spinach is my favorite). The desserts here are good too! I believe this is the only location I've ever been to though, and the service tends to be pretty middle-of-the-road. Oh, but they do ship their pizzas, but as far as I know it can only be cheese or veggies. Sorry to disappoint all the carnivores out there...
